Julie has been working in the fitness industry for almost 10 years. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise from Virginia Tech and her Master’s Degree in Exercise Science from Georgia State University. She is certified as a Personal Trainer by the American Council on Exercise and as a Group Fitness Instructor by the American Fitness and Aerobics Association. In addition, Julie holds a Pilates Certification from AAAI/ISMA.
Her fitness career began at Virginia Tech as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer, working with college students and faculty, as well volunteering as a trainer to the Air Force ROTC program. Since then, she has worked as the coordinator of fitness programs on several college campuses as well as a clinical exercise physiologist at a weight management center. Julie has acted as a consultant for several magazines, including Natural Health, and has spoken as a guest lecturer at many businesses and universities, including the University of Maryland.
