group personal training

With group personal training you can work out with a friend, spouse, co-worker, etc.  Having the support of another person can help you stick to your goals as well as motivate you while you are away from your personal trainer.  Also, the reduced individual costs of group personal training make it more financially feasible for some.  A personal trainer works with both of you at the same time to give you both a great workout as well as educate you about health and fitness.  Personal training sessions may include weight training, running or other cardiovascular exercise, plyometrics, sport specific activities, Pilates, water exercise or many other activities.  All programs are designed by your personal trainer to meet both of your specific needs and goals.

Group personal training is meant for 2 or 3 people who would like to exercise together with a personal trainer.  It is great for anyone looking to increase their fitness levels, gain strength, reduce body fat, train for a sport or event, or just be more active and healthier.  Although your goals do not need to be identical, group personal training works best when you and your partner have similar goals.  For example, someone looking to beat their best time in their upcoming marathon and someone struggling to lose a large amount of weight would not be ideal partners for group personal training.

Group personal training will give you all the benefits of individual personal training with some added benefits.  Having a personal trainer come to your home will increase your motivation to meet your goals, give you direction for your exercise program, and provide you with ongoing support.  By increasing your activity levels you will be decreasing your risk for disease, increasing energy levels, improving body composition, gaining strength, and gaining self-confidence.  Doing all of this in a small group setting gives you extra support and motivation, especially on days when your personal trainer isn’t meeting with you.  It also can be a great way to have fun and spend extra time with a friend.

Most often, personal training sessions take place in the home of one partner.  Don’t worry if you feel you don’t have a lot of space, you don’t need as much space as you think.  Our personal trainers are not limited to only working in your home though.  Personal trainers can come to your place of work or your apartment complex gym, provided they allow outside personal trainers to work there.  Personal training sessions can also take place outside in your neighborhood or at a public park if you like the outdoors.
