frequently asked questions

Whether you train in your home or at a health club is your preference. One of the main reasons people prefer in-home personal training is the convenience. No sitting in traffic, no parking lots, and no monthly health club dues. Also, in-home personal training is a great option if you feel intimidated or uncomfortable in the health club setting. In-home personal training is ideal for new moms who would like to work out while the baby’s napping. It is also good for those who have bought home equipment but are now struggling with the motivation and the education on how to use it.

No, you don’t need any of your own equipment. If you have equipment then we will use it but your personal trainer can bring all the necessary tools to give you a great workout. If you would like to do some extra workouts on your own then your personal trainer may recommend some equipment for you to buy but you’ll be surprised at how much you can accomplish with a pair of dumbbells and a resistance band, which are very inexpensive.

Yes, you will always work with the same personal trainer unless there is an unforeseen circumstance such as your personal trainer moving away or stopping work.  In that case you will have the choice to change personal trainers.  We post bios of all of our trainers so that you can see their qualifications and specialties and choose an appropriate personal trainer from there.  We also may make recommendations based on your goals and issues of who we think may be best but ultimately, the choice is yours.

No, you are never required to purchase personal training sessions in advance or to sign a contract for a set number of personal training sessions. Not everyone wants a personal trainer to work with them on a regular basis. If you have the motivation to workout on your own but need the education to get started then we can work together for just 1-2 sessions to do that.

Absolutely. We offer both 30 and 60 minutes personal training sessions because we realize that not everyone has 60 minutes to dedicate to exercise. Although a lot more can be accomplished in 60 minutes, you can get a full-body workout in 30 minutes. This option is best if you feel you have the motivation to do other parts of your workout (cardiovascular, flexibility) on your own.

Yes. Partner training is a great way to spend some extra time with a friend or spouse while also reducing the cost of personal training. It is important, though, that you and your partner have similar goals and interests in order for partner training to be most effective.

Yes. We can teach many different formats of classes including water aerobics, pilates, stretching and flexibility, etc. You need to provide the space and any equipment needed. Prices vary depending on the number of people in the class, the type of class, and the length and duration of the class. Typically, prices will range $10-25 per person per class.

Most likely not. Most private health clubs will not allow outside personal trainers to use their facilities. Exceptions to this are sometimes very small health clubs that do not employ personal trainers and community/apartment complex fitness centers. If the management approves then we can train in those locations.

Yes. We can come to your place of business and speak on a variety of health and wellness topics. This could be a one-time lecture or a series of lectures that we could do over several months.
